Adam Nisenson

LMFT, CSAT

Adam's methodology is deeply influenced by his intimate grasp of the trials faced by men confronting a partner’s infidelity. Leveraging his extensive clinical background and personal insights of being a betrayal partner himself, Adam creates a supportive and understanding environment, where clients are led through their journey of healing with compassion and wisdom.

Holding a degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Depth Psychology, Adam has committed his career to addressing critical issues such as betrayal, infidelity, sex addiction, and the myriad life challenges that accompany them. With Adam, the journey is not just about recovery; it’s about embarking on a path of profound personal growth and rediscovery.

Adam's Story

Standing at this crossroads, you’re not alone. I know this terrain all too well, a landscape marked by the long shadows of betrayal. It’s here that I once found myself, surrounded by a darkness that seemed to eclipse everything I once knew to be true. My own journey through the heartache of betrayal began thirteen years ago, a journey that didn't just redirect my professional life but also introduced me to a silent brotherhood of men, each bearing the raw, unseen scars of infidelity.

Trying to describe the moment my world turned upside down feels like narrating a scene from someone else’s life. The day my former spouse confessed to her affair and feelings for her acting out partner are etched into my memory with crystal clarity, even after all this time has passed. It was an experience that made me feel disconnected from reality as if the ground beneath me had crumbled away. The whirlwind of emotions that followed – grief, confusion, painful uncertainty and overwhelming anger – was simply too much to bear. It felt like mourning not for a relationship, but for the life and identity I thought I knew and had.

In the aftermath, an intense feeling of loneliness consumed me. The feelings of shame and failure as a man, coupled with the weight of expectations were overwhelming and bore down on me with a relentless force. My search for guidance only magnified my isolation. The stark realization that resources, support, and open conversations for men in my position were scarce was a bitter pill to swallow. I wasn't looking for generic advice; I needed a voice that understood the male psyche, a perspective that resonated with my experience.

Unexpectedly, my salvation came from my men’s group from the ManKind Project. This brotherhood provided me with a lifeline – a circle of individuals who shared an understanding and unspoken empathy. Without this, I might have succumbed to the silent fate that befalls many men who tread this path – stoicism, emotional stagnation, and a life half-lived.

This is why I've taken on the mantle of the Betrayal Shrink. It’s not about dwelling on the actions of my ex-wife; her choices and her journey are her own. My focus, my mission, is to offer a guiding light to other men finding their way through the darkness of betrayal. I’m here to ensure that no man must navigate this treacherous path alone.

Welcome to your journey through the labyrinth of betrayal, where every stride you take is a step towards reclaiming your strength and rewriting your story.
